Wow, you found us. I guess it's about time that we explain why you're here. The Track Mill is a company of session musicians, recording engineers, and producers.
We have gathered together to make it easy and convenient for you to get, well... Tracks.
Let's say you're a singer songwriter and you have a way to record your instrument or vocals, but you want a professional sounding recording with a full band and not just a homemade EP or demo. Without us, the next steps would look something like:
- Find decent musicians
- Find time to teach them your songs
- Find a recording studio
- Find a producer
- Coordinate everyone's schedule
- Record your tracks
- Have the song or album mixed
- Have the song or album mastered
Sound Fun? With us it is much more simple.
- Pick a Package
- Email us your song or come into our LA studio
- Walk away happy (Yes this is a step)
Without a better way to say it, we're a dream-come-true to a lot of people in the music industry. Take a look around at all that we have to offer. We hope to be doing business with you soon!
Q: Can you explain more about the different packages under sessions musicians?
A: First of all, we record all our tracks the same way; using our best gear and techniques to get the right "sounds" for the project. The different packages (bronze, silver, gold) indicate how much work has been put into the tracks after the recording process. We've decided to offer tracks that included mixing to save you time and to get you that much closer to a professional sounding recording.
Q: How do I know I'll get what I'm looking for?
A: We realize that a lot of these songs are your "babies," and that you can have a specific sound that you're going for. We're all for it. So, we highly recommend sending us reference material when you use our Contact Page. It can be an mp3 from a record that you like all the way to a pasted youtube link. Besides that, let's talk. You can explain to us (the guys doing the recording) what you're looking for in order to help us get on the right page.
Q: I'm not local, how do I get my songs to you?
A: We recommend that you send us an mp3 of your song. The quality of the track that you send us doesn't effect the quality that we send you. If you can't email a mp3 or wave/aiff file, you can always send a CD or DVD in the mail.
Q: How do I receive the finished product?
A: We will send you a link to download one file that contains your organized project. If you don't want to download large files, we can always send you a CD or DVD in the mail.
Q: Can I be specific about parts and grooves?
A: If you have specific parts or feels that you're going for, by all means, let us know.
Q: What if I'm not sure about the techy stuff, do I have to know the specifics?
A: No, you don't. Whatever you can tell us is fine. We're here to help figure out the rest.
Q: I have a recording of my song but I don't want to keep this version? What are my options?
A: We can use your recording as a reference. We can chart out the song and give you pretty much any version that you want.
Q: My song wasn't tracked with a click track (metronome). Can you track to one?
A: We prefer the tracks to be clean, to a click and executed well. But yes, even so, we can record your song(s) to a click track giving you a solid foundation to build on.
of your session and start mixing or recording.
Q: I'm gonna be mixing these myself. When I receive the session tracks from you, how do I align them to the current tracks in my session?
A: The easiest way to do it is to give us a mix that starts at the absolute beginning of your session. We'll start all of our tracks at your beginning. That way you can drop our tracks in to the beginning
Q: What if I want other instruments in addition to, or besides drums and bass?
A: We are not limited to drums and bass even though we currently only have drum and bass packages listed. We work with a lot of pros. Just let us know if you need a other instruments, we can do that too.
Q: What's the average turn around time for me to get my tracks?
A: Depending on the project, anywhere between 1-10 days.
Q: Can I be there when you record?
A: Yes.
